IPL Auction 2017: The 2017 IPL auction is likely to be one where a few players attract large bids, while the majority are bought at more prudent prices – keeping with the trend in recent years.
NEW DELHI: IPL Auction 2017, Ahead of the tenth season of the IPL that will begins from April 5 to May 21, there will be a player auction in Bangalore on February 20 at which 351 cricketers go under the hammer. Here is all you need to know about the IPL Auction 2017.
Players are up for sale
from an original pool of 799, there will be 351 cricketers up for auction; of these, 226 are Indian and the rest overseas players. The list of 351 includes 122 capped, 223 uncapped and six Associates players. However, a total of 76 players can be purchased.
Who has the highest base price?
As opposed to 12 in 2016, this year there are seven players with a top base price bracket of Rs 2 crore: Angelo Mathews, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Eoin Morgan, Ishant Sharma, Mitchell Johnson and Pat Cummins.
Franchises spend for this match
Of the eight franchises, Kings Xi Punjab have the most funds in their purse, Rs 23.35 crore. The Mohali-based franchise released just four players from their squad during the off-season, which is he fewest among all teams. Second are Delhi Daredevilswith Rs 21.5 crore, followed by current champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 20.9 crore), Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 19.75 crore), Rising Pune Supergiants (Rs 19.1 crore), Gujarat Lions (Rs 14.35 crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rs 12.825 crore) and Mumbai Indians (Rs 11.555 crore).

Were any players traded?
Just one. Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal was purchased from by Rising Pune Supergiants from Delhi Daredevils for an undisclosed amount.
Are Pakistan cricketer parts of the list?
No. But Pakistan-born Imran Tahir (South Africa) and Yasir Arafat (England) have qualified as overseas players.
